Required Certifications None, Complete facility modules and pass them
Job Duties • Monitors cardiac rhythms and/or O2 sats
• Obtains baseline ECG strip on all monitored patients according to department guidelines
• Records post cardiac strips following established procedures
• Updates and verifies patient data in information system
• Maintains unit/department specific records as assigned
• Recognizes rhythms with potential to alter patients physiology, obtains a ECG strips, and immediately reports all arrhythmias to the RN responsible for patient following protocols
• Maintains current knowledge of technical operations & capabilities of monitoring station, maintains alarms to protocol and responds appropriately to alarms, identifies/troubleshoots routine technical problems and sends workorders for repairs when necessary
• Handles incoming/outgoing communication, answers questions, and assists staff per protocol
• Gives accurate shift report relating to patient’s condition and rhythm status consistently
• Some unit clerk duties: managing and cleaning tele box, putting medicaitons away from tube station, and more

Shifts & Scheduling "0700-1930 and 1900-0730
Will work with travelers on scheduling, but ask travelers to be flexible and fill gaps in permanent scheduling
Schedule made out for 6 weeks at a time
For nights, they do there best to not make them work every other day "
Weekend Requirement "Minimum 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule
Days: Sat/Sun, Night: Fri/Sat"
Holiday Requirement Yes – travelers fill in needs
Is there a call or standby requirement? None
Floating Requirements "Will float to like units and Med/Surg at times. May also float to Boise Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center to like units and MedSurg if needed. May also float to ICU if experienced
Floating Notice: Goal is for a 2 hr notice prior to shift start if being asked to float to another facility, however, staff/travelers may be asked to float mid-shift when necessary. Floating is done on a rotational basis.
Meridian to Nampa: 19 min, 14 miles
Meridian to Boise: 21 min, 10.8 miles
Boise to Nampa: 33 min, 22.7 miles"
Scrub Color/Dress Code Any color
Unit/Department specific orientation 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
Additional Notes Asked to utilize cell phones appropriately, if found to be abusing it leadership may ask for it not to be present while on Monitoring Station.
The unit uses a Team Nursing Model, team oriented, and they are considered traveler friendly- they've had a lot of travelers who have extended or become permanent staff.
Pay Rate
$24.94 - $28.14/hour
