Unit Notes
We are looking for a surgical tech with ortho, GYN, Plastic, Robotics, and ENT experience.
Available ASAP
10 hour days variable Monday through Friday 6:30- 5pm and/or 7am-5:30 PM , with call.
Local BR is *** less if under 50 miles
OR scrub tech
Main- 15, Outpatient - 6. (Cardiac is staffed separately)
50-60 on average, 70-80 during busy times. Travelers should expect to be in back to back cases, this is a very busy OR.
BLS- CST preferred. Must graduate from an accredited school.
NOTE: They are also required to float to the Main Hospital OR, as well as HealthWest, so they must be qualified for each of those facilities as well.
Experience or 'Must have' skills 2 years of OR experience required. Need to have experience in a large, fast paced OR. Would like someone well rounded. travelers will usually be submitted for a specific team at the main campus (ortho team, neuro team, urology team, etc) specific team will be listed in the submittal. If no specific team is listed then they must have experience with the majority of the cases listed under main OR common cases (above). Must be self-motivated and self-directed. For general team, must have robot experience, they have 4 davinci robots. For urology team robot experience preferred. Ortho team: must be comfortable with total joints. May float between specialties within skillset.
Scrubbing required - RN's required.
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor CORE - YES NO, DOES NOT TAKE ASSIGNMENT. Resource coordinator for each service line.
OR techs Yes
EMR Cerner Surginet
Shifts & Scheduling No self scheduling- 10 H/ DAYS, CALL REQUIRED. Manager does schedule. No Block scheduling. 0645 start time. Option to do 12 hour shifts. Variable day off to the needs of the dept. Schedule is out 4-6 weeks out
Weeknight/Call Requirement Yes - 1 night a week. if they take call on a day they work it starts at 5p-7a, call on days off is from 3p-7a
Weekend/Call Requirement YES- dependant on team. Some do Fri-Mon and others do Fri-sat
Holiday/Call Requirement required.
Is there a mandatory call/standby requirement? Traveler can volunteer to take low census standby.
What is call response time? 30 minutes
Floating Requirements All travelers expected to float between inpatient and outpatient departments, both located in hospital. Occasional travel to Womens or Healthwest may be requested
Scrub Color/Dress Code provided
Unit/Department specific orientation flexible 1 week will give a little more if needed.
Additional Notes Most extend to a year. Treat the travelers like part of the team. Great team work.
