Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Supervising Pharmacist to oversee the day-to-day operations of a pharmacy department. The role includes ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, regulatory compliance, and providing patient education regarding medication usage and potential side effects. The ideal candidate must demonstrate leadership, expertise in pharmaceutical therapy, and strong decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory control, and customer service.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, including controlled substances and patient privacy laws.
• Provide expert consultation to patients on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes.
• Train, mentor, and supervise pharmacy staff to maintain high performance and professional standards.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure medication availability and minimize waste.
• Implement quality assurance procedures to enhance accuracy in dispensing and ensure patient safety.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Active Pharmacist License in the state of New York.
• Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical therapy, direct patient care, and medication management systems.
• Leadership and team management skills to oversee pharmacy staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
