MUST RECEIVE WRITTEN NOTICE FROM CLIICIAN THAT HOUSING HAS BEEN RESEARCHED, APPROVE OF PAY PACKAGE, COMMITTED AND UNDERSTAND ASSIGNMENT, AND WILL SIGN OFFER WITHIN 24 HOURS
- Unit: Women's Services - LDRP - Flr 2
- # of L&D Beds: 6 in a secure unit.
- # of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 1 suit in OR dedicated for C Sections.
- # of Triage beds: n/a
- # of Postpartum beds: The same 6 beds.
- # of Births per year/month? 160/year, about 12-17 per month.
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios: Yes 2 RN staff on per shift.
- Required Certifications: BLS ACLS NRP STABLE (to get , AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: LDRP position- RN to work with laboring and post partum patients and care of well baby and
well mom, high risk and critical patients, post partum, induciton, Hypertensive crisis and hemorrage protocol, no twins or triplets, will
stabilize until transfer. RNs to be newborn nurse in C-sections they would not circulate. Will care for both mom and baby for the first
couple hours/couplets.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: newborn stablization. 2 years of LDRP experience (strong L&D expereince, will consider candiates with
strong recent labor but need some LDRP or PP in the last few years in addition to labor experience). Must be comfortable working
with OB in house and managing laboring patients autonomously and independently (nights and weekends especially.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes 2 RN staff on per shift.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Mag, Pit, (Insulin if transferring out out).
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift?: Try to have a St Lukes core nurse be charge RN, house supervisor available for support as well.
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Not at this time, currently hiring.
- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: Shared Hospitalist with MS. Peds physician: days M-F there for newborn, on call nights/weekends.
OB are not in house: in clinic M-F and called in for laboring patients.
- Anesthesia in house 24/7: On call after hours (30 minute response time).
- RT Equipment: PRN nasal cannula and nonrebreathers.
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips?: Not required.
- EFM System: Centricity.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7 and Self scheduling with core staff.
- Weekend Requirements: Equitably distributed with core staff.
- Holiday Requirements: Equitably distributed with core staff.
- Is there a call or standby requirement: N/A
- Floating Requirements: Helping hands or safety attendant, not picking up shifts in other departments, must be comfortable with
floating- tasking time to time, want it to be done safely.
- Scrub Color/Dress code: Surgical scrubs and can wear their own unless in delivery/will wear surgical scrubs.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1 facility day of orientation and Epic and 2 12hr shifts on the unit.
**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**
