MUST RECEIVE WRITTEN NOTICE FROM CLIICIAN THAT HOUSING HAS BEEN RESEARCHED, APPROVE OF PAY PACKAGE, COMMITTED AND UNDERSTAND ASSIGNMENT, AND WILL SIGN OFFER WITHIN 24 HOURS
- Unit: Perioperative Care - Flr 2
- # Beds: 14. 3 PACU bays, 11 interchangeable bays for pre-op, same day discharge and Endo.
- Phase 1 and Phase 2?: Yes, their travelers will be assigned to any of the following: pre-op, PACU (phase 1 and Phase 2), pre-Endo,
and post-Endo areas.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: We follow the ASPAN guidelines.
- Required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS
- Common Cases: Ortho- total joints both IP and OP, sports med, ortho trauma, general, gyn, c-sections, endoscopy, (occassional
plastics and neuro/ spinal). Peds- older peds for ortho trauma, some younger dental peds.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: MUST have worked with Phase 1, good general surgical recovery experience. Want travelers to
have 2 years of experience in PACU, will consider travelers with many years of inpatient nursing, in only 1 year in PACU. Open to
first time travelers. Ok with limited Endo, will consider without c-section expereince.
-EMR: Epic
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: We have charge nurses and an ANM scheduled Mon-Fri. The charge nurse typically does not have an
assignment but often helps cover lunches or pitches in to help with efficiency as needed.
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes we have 2 CNA's M-F. They help cover HUC, CNA and room turnovers, however all RN's
are expected to learn how to clean/turnover their rooms and help with daily chores.
- RT Equipment: RT available as needed.
- ICU patients - do they recover in PACU: We do not have ICU. If we have a patient who needs to be transferred to a higher level of
care or requires a vent, they are kept in the OR/PACU with the anesthesia provider until transport arrives.
- RNs read strips: Yes.
- Shifts & Scheduling: We do not offer self scheduling. Start times from 6-8 am. We have 8,10 hour shifts. Very rarely place a
traveler on 12 hour shifts.
- Weeknight/Call Requirements: Night call is scheduled from 6pm-7am. Typically staff are assigned 4-5 days per month. If you have a
weekend call assignment you will have less weeknight call and vice versa.
- Weekend/Call Requirements: We are closed on nights and weekends. Call is 24 hours per day on the weekends. Call is from Friday
at 6pm until Monday at 7am. Weekends are assigned on a rotation basis.
- Holiday/Call Requirements: If there is a holiday during the contract the traveler may be assigned the holiday for call.
- What is call response time: 30 min. All staff must remain within 30 min of the hospital when on-call.
- Floating Requirements: Our travelers will be assigned to any of the following: pre-op, PACU (phase 1 and Phase 2) pre-Endo and
post-Endo (would not be considered floating but an expectation to work these areas).
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: scrubs are provided.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: We pair travelers with a preceptor for unit specific orientation. Unit Norms and System Values
will be discussed during this time. 3-5 shifts of orientation.

**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**
