Local Candidate rule: *100-mile radius rule* Travelers perm address must be 101 Miles from facility to be considered.
Unit IR
- # suites/labs: 2 at each
- #cases per day on average: 5-10 IR, CT 4-7
- Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS ACLS,
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: St Joseph- more vascular- smaller holding area.
- Job Duties: Candler- holding area where they are prepped for procedure, then go to the procedure with the patient. Most IR procedures done at Candler. - Sedation and reversing sedation. Communicating with the Provider about the patient status and be comfortable giving sedation. Cover CT/Specials/Ultrasound
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Sedation- IR experience with sedation and reversals.
- EMR/Equipment: Meditech
- Interventionalist hours/on call: In house
- Manager/Charge Nurse: Candler at all times. St Josephs has resource nurses because they are much smaller.
- IR Techs: Yes
- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 4-10 hour shifts
- Weeknight/Call Requirements: 14-15 days per 12 weeks (including weekends)
- Weekend/Call Requirements: 2 Weekends per 12 weeks
- Holiday/Call Requirements: Rotate holiday call.
- What is call response time?: 30 minutes
- Floating Requirements: No floating outside IR, but could float between hospitals
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy or royal blue
- Unit/Department specific orientation: Dependent on experience. can get 1-2 weeks.
- Additional Notes: Doctors always want feedback and want the nurses to feel comfortable giving the sedation. Highly skilled radiologists and vascular surgeons- Tenured.
