Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team. The Nurse Educator will play a crucial role in the orientation, scheduling, and competency assessment of nurse interns. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent organizational, communication, and teaching skills to ensure our nurse interns receive the best possible training and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Orientation:
• Develop and implement comprehensive orientation programs for nurse interns.
• Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize interns with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Provide guidance and support to nurse interns during their initial transition period.
• Scheduling:
• Coordinate and manage day-to-day scheduling for nurse interns.
• Ensure that nurse interns are assigned to appropriate clinical rotations and learning experiences.
• Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes and ensure adequate coverage.
• Competency Assessment:
• Design and administer competency assessments to evaluate the skills and knowledge of nurse interns.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to help nurse interns improve their competencies.
• Maintain accurate records of competency assessments and progress reports.
• Mentorship and Support:
• Serve as a mentor and resource for nurse interns, offering guidance and support throughout their training.
• Address any concerns or issues that arise during the internship period.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with nursing staff, clinical instructors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive training experience.
• Participate in meetings and committees related to nurse intern training and development.
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license in NY
• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) required
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Previous experience in nursing education or staff development preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
