Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS
Common Cases All specialties. No transplants
Experience or 'Must have' skills Vitrectomies, phacoemulsifications
Is scrubbing required for RNs? May be asked to help 2nd scrub/hold a retractor
Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge nurse on each shift. Charge nurse does not take assignments
OR techs?
EMR Cerner
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 10 hr days (0645 -1715), variable day off. No block or self-scheduling.
Weeknight/Call Requirements Minimum one night a week
Weekend/Call Requirements Minimum one weekend a month
Holiday/Call Requirements yes
What is call response time? 30 minutes
Floating Requirements none
Scrub Color/Dress Code Hospital laundered/provided scrubs
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? One full work week/ 4 10hr shifts. We offer a night of buddy call with a preceptor if they are interested.
