Department: Cath Lab | RN
*Required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and conscious sedation.*
- # suites/labs: 2 cath suites, also used for EP. Normally there are 4 RN on staff but when its busy we need 5 RN TECH 1
presently.
- # cases per day on average: On average 4 cases.
- Required Certifications: ACLS/ BCLS/ and conscious sedation.
- Common diagnoses: Diagnostic PCI balloon pump, cardio mems, impella, complex cases, shockwave, rota, right heart
cath, and pericardiocentesis. TEE in general EP assist as a scrub nurse and circulate.
- Job Duties: Admitting/ discharging/ Hands on with procedures/ recovery patients after procedure. YES we recover
patient RN are expected to scrub in to cases. calling patient pre and post op following up with all calls especially post
PCI.
- Experience: Know all the above, recover patient and be able to assist when needed with all cases.
- EMR/Equipment: Allscripts
- Cardiologist hours/on call: Yes
- Manager/Charge Nurse: Yes
- Cath Lab Techs: One
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7am-7:30 pm staffing is done by manager. No block schedule monthly.
- Weeknight/Call Requirements: We work alternate on call only.
- Holiday/Call Requirements: Yes
- What is call response time?: 30 mins
- Floating Requirements: Yes cover TEE/ Yes travels do float.
- Scrub Color: Uniform wear green scrubs.
- Unit Specific Orientation: Until they feel comfortable.
