Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:4-5
Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, NIHSS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients
Experience or 'Must have' skills "Must Have:
Prefer: 2 years"
Are RNs required to titrate drips? Pharmacy will calculate heparin and nurse will change rate*** Morphine for End of Life.
Common titratable &/or set rate drips
Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Remote tele monitoring, monitor on unit and monitor tech to monitor and notify nurses.
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Charge Nurse does not take an assignment, House Supervisor 24/7.
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios 1:10-12
RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.) Cpap, NC
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 7-7:30 for both AM and PM shifts. Will take scheduling requests into account but no guarantee.
Weekend Requirement 2 weekends per 4 week schedule
Holiday Requirement Yes, as needed.
Is there Call or a Standby requirement? Standby if scheduled and not needed. No true 'on call' shifts.
Floating Requirements? Any similar areas, within their skill set.
Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? Royal Blue
Unit/Department specific orientation 2 shifts w/a preceptor
Additional Notes Must have EPIC experience
