Department Description
14 beds; acute care - general inpatient care for palliative/hospice with medical and surgical overflow patients. Goal is for patients to return to a home setting.
General job duties:
assessments, med administration, care planning, DC planning, symptom management for end of life and/or comfort care, general M/S overflow care, IV therapy, O2 therapy, emotional support, wound care, direction of care planning
Equipment:
EPIC, lifts/veiling lifts, pyxis, R5 call light systems, Dinamaps, decentralized tele, API scheduling, Healthstream education
Required skills:
Physical psych/social assessment, IV Therapy, O2 therapy, pain med management, anxiety management, psychosocial skills, TLC for patients and families in distress, general end of life symptom management skills, assist with physical cares
Required licensure:
RN
Unit specific training:
end of life and symptom management
Nurse to patient ratio:
days 3-4, pms 4-5, nights 6-7
dress code:
nursing uniform and comfortable shoes
