Job Details
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
RN assigned to direct patient care of general surgical, vascular, cardiothoracic, and plastic surrgery patients.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
One Chart for all documentation, PCA and Epidural pumps, and Telemetry
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Registered nurse licensed in SD, minimum of 1 year experience working with surgical patients
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS, RN licensure
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Employee will not work alone. Scheduled call isn't required. Will become part of every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
Will float to other adult non-ICU units at SMC. Primary cluster to float to includes: Pulmonay, Cardiology, and Surgical Renal.

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Day shift is 4 patients per RN and night shift is 5 patients per RN. Ratios can be adjusted by the charge nurse based on patient acuity if needed.
Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs with white undershirt.
