Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 34.5 hours

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join its high-acuity maternity unit. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients, manage high-risk obstetric cases, and assist with operative deliveries.

Qualifications

Active New York RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
BSN required
Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP (RN-C preferred)
Proficiency in fetal monitoring, caring for magnesium sulfate patients, and scrubbing for C-sections
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient-care skills

Unit & Facility Details

14 beds total (6 labor beds, 5 triage/inpatient beds, 2 OR rooms)
Ratios follow AWONN standards
Charting: Meditech and Client
Orientation: 2–3 shifts
Floating to OB/Nursery for tasks only (no patient assignments)
Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend (Fri/Sat for nights)

Key Responsibilities

Provide labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
Assist with C-sections and obstetric emergencies
Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to changes
Perform patient assessments and documentation in dual EMR systems
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment

Pay Rate
$65.20 - $68.40/hour
