Job Details
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive infusions and injections. Work along side provider during weekly clinics. Provide patient education and support. Manage patients on oral medications. Assist is ordering and scheduling tests and procedures.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Evident/Thrive EMR, Baxter IV pumps, vital sign monitors
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
RN with current Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification thru Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and at least 1-year experience working in Oncology infusions. Good IV skills and experience accessing/using implanted ports.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
RN with ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification. BLS.
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
8am-4:30pm Tuesday thru Friday. No weekends, holidays or call. Hospital-based outpatient clinic - RN will be solo in the infusion center at times with onsite pharmacy and ER physician support as needed.
