Multi - Facility float pool within Upstate NY. Facilities floated include Fishkill Medical Oncology (Fishkill), Middletown Medical Oncology (Middletown), Newburgh Medical Oncology (Newburgh), Poughkeepsie Medical Oncology (Poughkeepsie), and Yorktown Medical Oncology (Yorktown Heights).
Patient Ratio is 1:4-5, 1:1 with new chemo patients. Infusion center (inpatient or outpatient) and chemotherapy/oncology experience required.
Oncology nurse’s main duty is to supervise and provide nursing care to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. You will work hand-in-hand with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure the greatest quality of care for the patient. Oncology nurses offer a wide range of service, from cancer prevention to direct care through palliative, supportive, and rehabilitative services. Oncology nurses often work in sterile and/or clean chemotherapy suite environments and should adhere to strict confidentiality terms and policies because of the delicate health condition of patients with cancer.
