Job Summary

• The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting nursing personnel in providing resident care within the scope of his/her certification, training, and regulatory requirements.

• Reporting Relationship: RN on duty and Director of Nursing (DON).

• This position requires full understanding of and active participation in fulfilling the Mission, Vision, and Values of HRH.

• The associate is expected to demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Core Values and support HRH’s goals and quality improvement processes.

• Appropriate Physical Factors: Standing, walking, sitting, pushing (100 lbs), pulling (100 lbs), lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, filing, typing, photocopying, talking, hearing, color vision.

• Physical Demands: Lifting objects over 100 lbs; frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide all ADL care to patients including oral care, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, range of motion, ambulation, and dining.

• Deliver care according to each patient’s individualized care plan.

• Provide care in a manner that respects resident dignity and privacy.

• Demonstrate kindness, compassion, attention to detail, and awareness of individual resident needs.

• Offer choices to residents and encourage independence whenever possible.

• Adhere to resident rights during care and communication.

• Answer call lights promptly.

• Communicate any changes in a patient’s condition to the staff nurse in a timely manner.

• Complete charting and documentation per ECU policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to communicate resident preferences and needs for individualized care planning.

• Work with other disciplines to promote and assist patients in activities of interest.

• Maintain cleanliness of wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment.

• Report any non-working or unsafe equipment or facility fixtures to maintenance.

• Use all required safety equipment appropriately (gait belt, goggles, lifts, transfer boards, etc.).

Pay Rate
$34.46 - $37.66/hour
