Nurse Manager Psych Adult In-Patient Unit

BronxCare is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager for one of our Adult-Inpatient units within our Psychiatric Hospital. 8 Franklin is a 27-bed adult (18 and above) acute in-patient psychiatric unit. Patients are admitted from CPEP or Concourse ER, 24 to 72 hours from the initial presentation once medically cleared. Most of the patients on this unit have been diagnosed Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders including those with Dual Diagnosis (Mental Illness with Chemical Abuse). The unit also sees adult patients with Autism Spectrum/Intellectual Disabilities & Personality Disorders.
Our model of care is multi-disciplinary team approach which consists of pharmacotherapy (to control their presenting complaints) and psychotherapy (assists them in their psycho-social/occupational functioning & prepare them for the long recovery).
The ideal candidate would be an experienced Nurse Manager who possesses direct experience overseeing an adult patient unit within the psychiatric field. We are seeking someone who can sustain an environment of excellence in patient and family service, growth and development of staff, and application of evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities: Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Assess patient care requirements in each unit by making rounds in all patient care units. Develop and implement staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff. Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems. Assist staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities. Respond to emergency situations and assists as necessary. Act as a resource in identifying and/or solving administrative/operational problems. Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner.
Requirements
New York State Registered Nurse License Registered Nurse Registration
College Degree-BSN required MSN-preferred
BLS from American Heart Association
Minimum of three years of recent acute care RN experience
Leadership experience required
Other Requirements
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communications skills
Communication skills written and verbal skills required
Progressive leadership: demonstrated in a leadership position or demonstrates the potential for leadership competency; demonstrates ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving. Membership in pertinent professional organizations.
Pay Rate
$83.50 - $86.70/hour
