Job Summary
This position performs MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality control. Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Job Responsibilities

Interview patients prior to MRI procedures to ensure MRI safety before performing the examination.

Ensure patient safety by correctly identifying each patient using approved two (2) patient identifiers at every point of contact within the MRI suite.

Explain the MRI process and provide patient instructions to obtain optimal diagnostic imaging results; address patient questions, needs, and concerns as required.

Safely set up, operate, and adjust MRI equipment, selecting appropriate technical factors, software options, and imaging parameters to obtain accurate MRI studies; return equipment to its original location after each scan.

Ensure safety for patients, operators, and visitors within magnetic field Zone IV.

Prepare patients for radiological procedures by safely positioning them for MRI scans, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, setting exposure factors, and monitoring patients during scanning.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe MRI rooms; clean MRI scanners after each patient use.

Ensure proper functioning of imaging equipment by performing image quality and calibration tests as required; report equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

Maintain imaging supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and anticipating supply needs.

Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy, ensuring proper patient and image identification; present completed images to the radiologist.

Effectively use the electronic medical record (EMR) to document patient encounters and access relevant patient data and imaging results; maintain detailed and accurate patient records.

Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience

One (1) year of MRI experience with relevant equipment.
Pay Rate
$65.97 - $70.85/hour
