Department: Women's Health | LPN
*Required Certifications: BLS, phlebotomy- preferred (lab has high needs).*
- # beds/rooms: 14th floor practice (1650 Grand Concourse) has 22 rooms, 3 rooms per suite.
- Average # of providers in the clinic/day: MD NP Midwives 10-13 per day. 2 days a week high risk (GDM , HTN).
- Average # of patients/day: 200/ day. To float between medication and floor when necessary, and cannot do education.
- Required Certifications: BLS, phlebotomy- preferred (lab has high needs).
- Common diagnosis: GYN: Annual screenings, paps, endometrial biopsies, IUD and TOP- termination of pregnancy
clinic OB, post partum BP/ HTN management. Assisting with procedures: IUD placement and removal, TOPs,
colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, cervical screenings. Labs- specimen collection.
- Experience: Quick learner, busy environment. Good interpersonal skills and professionalism and good communication,
critical thinking. OK with first time travelers as long as they are a quick learner- jump right in.
- Manager/Supervisor: Coordinator that assist- Robin, RNs then LPN, LPNs typically oversee MAs.
- Job Duties: LPN: to float between medication and floor when necessary, floor for intake and basic screening, POC/
labs, and no teaching.
- EMR: Allscripts
- Shifts & Scheduling: Clinic is open from M-F 830-4. Have a walk in Clinic that opens at 830 and closes around 1030
due to amount of patients (20-30). Shifts are from 8-430, 830-5, 9-530. Tuesday evening clinic staff with 1 LPN to work
11- 830. Also staffed on a volunteer basis with 1 NP, 2 midwives and residents (could be staffed with 6 people) during
later clinic hours.

- Is there a call or standby requirement?: None
- Floating Requirements: Staff can be floated to other ambulatory care clinics and/or outpatient GYN clinics.
- Scrub Color: RN: Royal Blue, LPN: Kelly Green, PCT: Eggplant.
- How many shifts for orientation?: General orientation, upwards of 1 week with a preceptor, environment and policies
and procedures.
- Do you use Medical Assistants or CNA's?: Yes- PCTs.
Pay Rate
$38.49 - $43.37/hour
