Department: Addiction Rehab | LPN
*Required Certifications: BLS, De-Escalation Training
- # of Beds: Capacity is 23 patients.
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: No ratios, this is a voluntary unit with stable patients that is ran by counselors. RNs will do admissions,
medications and any handle medical issues that may arise.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Common diagnoses: 18 and older rehabbing from alcohol, crack cocaine, PCP, etc. If patients have any behavioral issues and they
can't follow the rules they will be discharged, if team feels there is a psych issue they will be transferred to psych.
- Experience: Need someone that can really assess detox symptoms- looking for MedSurg experience. Do not need psych experience
although that would be preferred. Must have phlebotomy skills and experience obtaining EKGs. Okay 1 year of experience.
- Do you ever have IV's on this unit?: No- in the event of a medical emergency may start an IV.
- EMR: Allscripts
- Charge Nurses/House Supervisors: During business we have a PCM in the building, during nonbusiness hours would be available over
the phone.
- Do you use physical restraints on this unit?: No this is a voluntary unit.
- Nurse Aids/Mental Health Specialists: No techs.
- Is RT available if needed? If patients have oxygen or need treatments does RT do these?: No
- Tele Monitor Techs: EKG will be done by RNs if needed.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Requirements: 1 winter holiday- 1 summer holiday.
- Is there call or a standby requirement?: N/a
- Floating Requirements: Will float to Rehab (sister unit), may float to clinic to help out, and can float to psychiatry if there is a need
and they have the experience. Psychiatry is in a building right beside here, if floating at night security will escort.
- Scrub Color: RNs wear Royal Blue, LPNs Kelly Green, and PCTs/CNAs/MAs wear Eggplant burgundy.
- Unit Specific Orientation: 5 days on the floors.
Pay Rate
$36.65 - $39.85/hour
