LPN – Nursing Home

Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care to residents in a long-term care or nursing home facility. They work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician to ensure resident safety, comfort, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, and hygiene support.

  • Monitor residents’ vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

  • Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and infection control.

  • Report any changes in a resident’s condition to the RN or physician promptly.

  • Document care provided, medications given, and changes in resident conditions in the medical chart.

  • Support residents with daily living activities (ADLs).

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.

  • Follow facility policies, state regulations, and nursing standards of care.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active LPN/LVN license in the state of employment.

  • Basic knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care standards.

  • Strong communication and observation skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to elderly care.

Pay Rate
$24.57 - $27.77/hour
