Shift: Mid 6x8-Hour (15:00 - 23:00)
Description:
***48 hours per week. Sunday-Friday.***
Patient Age Group: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics
Histology Techonologist II in a hospital laboratory. Embedding, cutting, making slides, operating stainer, hand staining, Immunohistochemistry, working with Pathology grossing techs/Pathology Assistants, working with Pathologists and other departments
Work Setting Experience Preferred: Community Hospital
General Skills Experience: Tissue Processing
Histology- Grossing/Fixation Experience: Coagulant/Non-Coagulant Fixatives, Core Biopsies, Curettings, Decalcification, Enzyme Histochemistry, Excision Specimens, Formalin, Immunohistochemistry, Incisional Biopsies, Shave Biopsies
Histology- Embedding/Microtomy Experience: Automated/Manual Microtome, Cutting Blocks, Embedding GI Specimens, Embedding Large Specimens, Embedding Molds, Embedding Smalls and Bigs, Embedding Skin Techniques, Histology Cassettes, Microtomy Of Fatty Tissue, Microtomy Of Frozen Sections, Microtomy Of Hard Tissue, Paraffin Wax Sections
Histology- Staining Experience: Basic Dye Stains, Giemsa and All Formulations, Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) Stain, IHC Staining, Special Stains
Cytology- FNA’s/Special Stains Preferred: Make Smears
Documentation System Experience Preferred: EPIC and CERNER
Certifications/Licenses: ASCP-HT and ASCP-HTL
Specific Equipment Experience Preferred: VIP 5/6 processors and Benchmark Ultra
Minimum Experience Required: 1 year

Pay Rate
$41.78 - $44.98/hour
