Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
License Requirement

Any traveler not currently holding an active Hawaii (HI) state license must apply upon acceptance of offer.

Candidate must have the Hawaii license by the start of the assignment.
General Job Duties
-
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments, Ortho sets, and equipment.
-
Inspect, clean, and reprocess endoscopes manually and via AER.
-
Inspect, assemble, and wrap instrument trays for surgical procedures.
-
Operate autoclaves, V-Pro Max, AER, and other sterilization equipment.

Maintain accurate sterilization process records.
-
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks and log entries.
-
Assemble surgery case carts with supplies in a timely manner.
-
Retrieve, stock, and rotate supplies following FIFO (First In, First Out).

Follow AAMI, AORN, OSHA, and facility-specific protocols.

Collaborate with OR staff, departments, and outer clinics to ensure timely readiness of sterile supplies.

Comply with all hospital infection control and safety standards.

Stay current with best practices, equipment servicing, and required education.

Minimum Experience Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certification through CRCST or CBSPD.

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a sterile processing department (hospital or surgical center).

Shifts & Schedule
-
SPD Operations: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Primary Shift: 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Occasional: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (to cover sick calls)
-
Weekend On-Call: Saturday–Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (rotational)

State Holidays: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
-
Major Holidays: On-call, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
-
Orientation on Day Shift (up to one week or per manager’s discretion).
