- Unit: EEG Magic Valley Hospital
- General Certification Requirements: BLS, R. EEG T. CLTM (Certified in Long Term Monitoring) preferred "
- How many scanners/rooms does this department have: 1 outpatient room, 4 inpatient machines serving a 250 bed facility. Currently
expanding the program so may have more in the future.
- Will they have to float/cover any other areas: Will cover the whole hospital- will go to any floor where there is a patient that needs
monitoring.
- Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties: Epilepsy, ICU, Pediatrics.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have LTM (long term monitoring) experience. Must have experience with all Pediatric age
levels- Peds make up 1/3 of population- NICU babies and babies a couple of hours old. Must be comfortable in all realms, all age
groups and all disabilities. Must be comfortable using Collodion Glue- this is what they must use.
- Average # of scans/studies per day: Varies- Inpatient and Outpatient with 3-5 scans per tech per day. Currently staffing 2 techs but
with expansion will grow to 4 techs.
- What EMR do you use: EPIC
- Department Specific Equipment: Natus
- Is there a Lead Tech on each shift: Yes- Seger Ducharme
- Do they use assistants: No
- Neurologist in house: 2 neuro hospitalists starting in July. Currently have 3 outpatient neurologists.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 8 hour shifts, variable start times with first being 7AM. Shifts could change as the department grows.
- Weeknight/Call Requirements: Yes, variable call- do not have standard night shifts.
- Weekend/Call Requirements: Variable- will have call but with program growth may need weekend coverage.
- Holiday/Call Requirement: Coverage is required on holidays
- Call or Standby requirement: Yes- see above.
- Call response time: Within 30 minutes.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: No specific color, plain with no patterns or neon colors. No Grey scrubs.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1-2 weeks side by side with a preceptor.
- Additional Notes: Need someone who is flexible and can adapt to a changing environment, has good customer service skills, can get
along with a small team.
