Job Overview:
Medcadre, a Joint Commission-certified healthcare staffing agency based in Irvine, California, is hiring a Dermatology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner on behalf of one of its clients. This 6-month temporary contract offers the opportunity to work in a patient-focused dermatology practice, where you will play a key role in diagnosing and treating dermatological conditions, as well as performing minor surgical procedures.

Shift:
  • Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Meal Break: 60 minutes (unpaid)
Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 28 hours
Start Date: January 1, 2025
End Date: June 30, 2025
Pay: $85/90 per hour
Contract Duration: 6 months
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, diagnose common dermatological conditions, and provide appropriate follow-up care.
  • Minor Procedures: Perform minor surgical procedures, including biopsies, cryotherapy, and excisions.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on skin care, disease prevention, and overall wellness.
  • Collaboration: Work with dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology and incorporate them into your practice.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any specialization
  • High School Diploma
  • Certification:
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice in Virginia
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dermatology, including dermatological procedures (e.g., skin biopsies, cryotherapy)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wound care, patient assessment, medical history recording, prescription writing, and EHR management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in patient education
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Suturing knowledge is a plus
