Job Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. The COTA provides hands-on therapeutic interventions and supports patients in achieving greater independence and functional ability.

Key Responsibilities

Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
Provide therapeutic activities to improve patients’ functional abilities, mobility, and coordination
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and adaptive techniques
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, use of adaptive equipment, and safety strategies
Monitor patient progress and report outcomes and concerns to the supervising OT
Document treatment sessions and patient responses accurately in medical records
Assist with patient evaluations and re-evaluations as directed by the OT
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
Adhere to clinical standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support patient goals

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
Active state licensure in good standing (if required)
Current CPR/BLS certification
Ability to meet background, health, and physical requirements

Pay Rate
$37.48 - $42.36/hour
